Isabel was born in Melbourne Australia. Her dad is Australian as is her mother who is Swiss. Her family was originally from Cairns, in Australia. They resided on the outskirts of Cairns Australia. With her sister Nina, she went to schools where First Nations and other children from different backgrounds were accepted. Isabel currently resides in Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel was involved in theater during her years at school. She studied at QUT in Queensland. Also, she attended the Victorian College of the Arts and Perdekamp Method Perdekamp. It was not until she auditioned for part until discovered by her agents in 2002. She tried out as a character in Home and Away in 1988. Her audition was unsuccessful and she wasn't selected for the role but she impressed enough producers to create a brand new role for Tasha. In the course of three years, Isabel was awarded the Logie Award as a new TV talent for her role. Isabel moved from London to Los Angeles in 2008. In 2009, her breakout part was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. She has since starred in numerous US as well as Australian productions, and received several nominations. Isabel recently played a part in Bosh & Rockit Ocean Boy - a film fast becoming a mainstay in Australian cinema - and the soon-to-be-released thriller Lunacy. Isabel completed her role in Sons of Summer and is currently in the process of preparing for the role as Marie Curie in Radiant with Award-winning writer/director Annika Glac. Isabel is an animal rights activist and has worked with a variety of environmental organisations. Isabel has been the proud PatronAmbassador for Melbourne's Human Rights and Arts Film Festival HRAFF over the last decade, and will continue until 2020. Isabel is well-known for her ecologically conscious ethics as well as commitment to the cause of social justice. Isabel was made an ambassador for brands of all kinds, including brands and campaigns in the field of fashion and cosmetics.
